Poway Days Parade Turns 50

The Rotary Club of Poway-Scripps held its first planning session for the 2014 Poway Days Parade and 5K Run this past Monday (03/31) at the Mainstream Bar & Grill. 

It's a “golden” year as the parade, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6, turns 50! It seems like only yesterday we were nodding our heads in favor of saving last year's event with only six weeks before the date.

The purpose of Monday's meeting was to begin assembling a parade and race committee. It's a large task and we'll need lots of help.  

In fact, the Committee is looking for motivated volunteers for positions such as Race Director and Volunteer Coordinator, among many others. Interested members of the community who would like to serve should contact Parade Chair Pauline Getz at paulinegetz@gmail.com or 858-663-5830.
