Photo Gallery: Powegians Celebrate Independence Day the Old-Fashioned Way

Poway residents enjoy the Fourth of July at the annual Old Poway Park event.

Hundreds of Poway residents filled Old Poway Park to celebrate the Fourth of July on Monday.

The festivities were reminiscent of another time as musicians strummed banjos in the gazebo, families rode the steam engine train and a "gunfight" ensued at the train station.

Despite the 90-degree heat, there was no shortage of attendees partaking in the many festivities, including: a quilt show, picnics, historical reenactments, live music, train rides and plenty of cotton candy.
