Longtime Powegian Idel Ozarski Sings Praises of Sister, Soroptimists

Prime Poway Woman No. 11 is the former president of Soroptimists International of Poway.

Idel Ozarski has lived in Poway for 15 years and been involved in the community every step of the way.

She is on the board of Soroptimists International of Poway after previously serving as the group’s president. She also is a member of RB Chorale, St. Gabriel’s Church and was involved in Poway High School’s PTA.

She dotes on her dedication to Poway.

“I am most proud of my steadfast commitment to serving family and community,” she said, but noted there is “much” she has yet to accomplish.

Ozarski finds her inspiration from other members of Soroptimists and her sister, Domenica.

“Domenica always took on more than her share of the work graciously,” she said. “She has been my greatest source of comfort and inspiration. She is smart, beautiful, hard-working and loving, at 80 still cooks and bakes the most delicious food.”

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?  

“WHM has elevated the status of women in society.  It acknowledges the accomplishments of women and exposes young women to inspirational role models.”
