Local Leaders Hit Domestic Violence Out of the Ballpark

Leaders play ball in support of Operation for HOPE Foundation.

The Operation for HOPE Foundation hosted its second annual Strike Out Domestic Violence softball game on Saturday.

The game pitted the office of San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith against the city of Poway, led by Mayor Don Higginson.

Major league baseball player Merv Rettenmund coached the San Diego team, and former Padres pitcher Randy Jones stepped in as coach for the Poway team.

Funds raised from the event went to the foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping those affected by domestic abuse.
