Femfessionals Leader Angie Nobile Exercises Her Business Strengths

Prime Poway Woman No. 21 is the owner of Xtend Barre Scripps Poway.

Angie Nobile has a goal of encouraging as many women as possible to live a healthy lifestyle.

Two years ago, she made major progress when she opened Xtend Barre Scripps Poway with Prime Poway Woman Sara Peelle.

“I wanted to develop longterm relationships with clients and really have the ability to make a positive impact on their self-image through exercise,” she said. “Poway is a great community of like-minded women that share common goals of family, health and supporting the community they live or work in.

“I truly look at my work as an opportunity to build a community of women that support each other in their fitness and lifestyle goals.”

But Nobile is going the extra mile.

She’s supported Chelsea’s Light Foundation, breast cancer research, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and now is the local president of Femfessionals.

Nobile, who looks up to her 93-year-old grandmother Angeline, said she is most proud of leaving the corporate world for Xtend Barre.

“I’m mostly proud of taking a risk and plunging into the unknown,” she said. “Other business owners in the area discouraged me from opening a fitness business that caters to women, as they felt there was too much competition and the area would not support a specialized program like Barre fitness. I set out to prove them wrong, as I felt they did not understand my vision.”

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

“It’s a time that we get the joy and privilege of celebrating the generations of women who have work tirelessly to give women like me the ability to have it all.  These pioneers in fighting for women’s rights are important to our history and should be honored for their individual and collective efforts.”
