Old-Fashioned Fourth of July

Enjoy a family-fun day at Old Poway Park for Independence Day. This year's theme is "Old West" so dress up in your cowboy boots and hats and join in the food-eating, music-listening, art-and-crafting fun.

You'll be able to check out some model trains, thanks to the Poway Station Model Railroad Club and even watch blacksmiths work their magic on some iron. Little cowboys and cowgirls can be on the look-out for mock gun fights and train robberies.

For those looking for something more patriotic, the Heritage Museum and Nelson House will be open with educational décor and memorabilia and the Friendship Quilters will also display many of their unique quilts.
