1 quart of fresh strawberries, trimmed
Ingredients From the Cabinet or Local Grocery Store:
1 pre-made pie crust, baked
1 cup of white sugar
3 tablespoons corn starch
2/4 cup water
1 can heavy whipped cream

- Place half of your trimmed and washed strawberries in the pre-baked pastry shell. In a separate container, add the rest of your strawberries together with the sugar and mash. Let the mixture macerate, or combine. Place mixture in a small saucepan over low heat and bring to a boil. Monitor by stirring constantly.
- Whisk together cornstarch and water. Stir this mixture into the boiling strawberries. Reduce heat to a simmer for about 10 minutes, or until thickened. Pour over berries in pie shell and chill for two hours in the refrigerator.
- Slice and serve pie with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
