Trout for Thanksgiving? Lake Poway to Be Restocked Just Before Holiday

Warm weather killed much of the lake's trout, so the city is adding another 1,500 pounds of the fish on Nov. 22.

The city of Poway will soon add 1,500 pounds of trout to Lake Poway—restocking much of what was lost last week.

The news comes after fishing enthusiasts visited the lake on opening day of trout season to find a sign noting that the "" 

Despite the diminished stock, opening day was successful overall "with quite a few large trout" catches, according to Audrey Deham, the city's recreation supervisor.

Deham added that the city will restock the lake on Nov. 22, making it stocked up to 3,000 pounds before Thanksgiving weekend.
