Bake Broccoli Chicken Divan With One Dish

Looking to save on washing dishes, pots, and pans? This is a one-stop-bake recipe with farm grown ingredients.

Dishes are the bane of any chef's existence. We cook and create away and at the end what do we have? Dishes. Try a one-stop-shop-n-bake recipe that will leave you with one baking dish to clean. Broccoli Chicken Divan is a uniquely American dish with French origins, inspired by the Campbell's kitchen recipes.

In one pan we can prepare and serve the protein (chicken), veggies (broccoli), and yummy cheese gooeyness. It's a healthy and fresh recipe with quick, easy clean-up. Especially if you shop at the Poway Farmer's Market for the staples of the dish.

  • 3 large heads of broccoli, trimmed
  • 1 block of cheddar cheese, shredded

Ingredients from the Cabinet or Local Grocery Store:

  • 1 pound of cubed chicken
  • 2 tablespoons of dry bread crumbs, matzo crumbs work well too
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 can of Campbell's Broccoli Cheese soup
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • Salt/pepper

Directions: Trimmed broccoli and diced chicken are mixed together in an oiled baking dish. Add salt and pepper to taste. Combine milk and soup together and pour over chicken and broccoli- this is your "sauce." Sprinkle with handfuls of shredded cheddar cheese. Combine breadcrumbs and butter together and pour over top of casserole. Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees and serve hot. You'll know the dish is ready when it's bubbling.

This dish easily serves four and ingredients can be doubled for a larger amount of guests. Enjoy a one pan eat and clean-up caserole dish with your family and friends. A great American classic dish is an excellent way to slow down the evening and eat with those who matter most to you.

With one dish to wash at the end of the meal, there won't be arguments about who has to "do the dishes" at the end of the night. Here's to that.
