Aimee Wilcox Left Pharma Behind to Give Family a Booster Shot of Supermom

Prime Poway Woman No. 1 says: "Since we are all still works in progress, there is always more to accomplish!"

Supermom Aimee Wilcox knows what’s most important in life.

Wilcox, who was nominated by 2012 Prime Poway Woman Joann Whetstine, had a career in pharmaceutical sales and more recently social media marketing—but opted to become a full-time stay-at-home mom to ensure her four children were receiving the best care.

Wilcox is a “Team Parent” for her kids’ sports team and volunteers weekly at Midland Elementary. She’s also a former blogger who wrote about her child’s journey with a kidney reflux problem.

“I would say that my family—being a parent to four wonderful kids and being happily married—is both my biggest accomplishment and the thing of which I’m most proud,” she said.

“Every day is filled with challenges big and small, but I am extremely grateful for these opportunities to grow and be the best person, parent, and wife I can possibly be to the people in my life.  And, since we are all still works in progress, there is always more to accomplish!”

Wilcox, who has lived in Poway for 12 years, said she finds inspiration from her mom and other moms who have demonstrated a “dedication to their families.”

“If I do things right in this life, I hope to be able to inspire others in at least some of these ways, which is why this recognition is very meaningful to me,” she said.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

“Women’s History Month to me is as much about the famous women who have paved an unforgettable path before me as it is a time to celebrate all the women who make even a small difference in people’s lives everyday.

“This is a perfect opportunity to draw inspiration and wisdom from the women we admire past and present so that we can write a history we can be proud of for those who follow in our footsteps.”
