It was the Thanksgiving holiday so we forgive you for not clicking on Poway Patch as often this week—but you still need to know what you may have missed. Here's your week in review, our dear loyal readers:

Arts: From The Nutcracker making its way to Poway to creating something awesome and fun with your Thanksgiving Day photos—our Arts section was booming with coverage this week. Check it all out here.

Business: As merchants were preparing for Black Friday shopping and are continuing to accommodate holiday shoppers, "Down Home Marketing" columnist Alyson Rybar gave tips on how small businesses can effectively use social media.

Government: As critcism over TSA policies heat up, the son of one City Council member is taking matters in his own hands. Councilwoman Merrilee Boyack's son Connor launched a website against the TSA's patdowns. Check out our story on it here.

Police and Fire: Drunken drivers were caught by law enforcement officials throughout the county during the holiday. Find out how many were arrested here. Some crime did happen throughout the week in Poway. Read all about it in our crime blotter.

School: In Poway school news, an 8-year-old was exposed to whooping cough. And, the PTA is attempting to accommodate all the referrals it has in its "Adopt-a-Family" program.
