Poway, RB Advance to Boys Soccer Semifinals

The Titans beat Mira Mesa 3-1 while the Broncos coast to a 5-0 win over Calexico.

Poway and Rancho Bernardo both advanced to the CIF San Diego Section Division I boys soccer semifinals Friday night, with the Titans topping Mira Mesa 3-1 and the Broncos running past Calexico 5-0.

Top-seeded Poway (24-1-3) will host Torrey Pines on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Falcons advanced with a 3-0 victory over Granite Hills. Second-seeded Rancho Bernardo (16-5-1) is home to San Pasqual, which routed Chula Vista 5-0.

Darien Naraghi, Luke Flud and Eric Budniewski scored the goals for Poway , with Evan Myers picking up two assists. Zach McDonnell had five saves in goal.

Rancho Bernardo had five different players score a goal and built a 4-0 halftime lead to leave little doubt about the final outcome. Jake Fenlason needed just three saves in recording the shutout. Alex Brunsell scored a goal and added two assists for the Broncos.
