Community Leader Steve Vaus Announces Run for City Council

Vaus, who ran for the seat in 2010, announced his effort on Monday.

The news of Vaus running comes after Councilwoman Merrilee Boyack, who is currently serving her second term, announced she would not seek re-election. Boyack is endorsing Vaus in the election.

Vaus lost in 2010 to Councilman John Mullin, who received 2,132 votes compared to Vaus's 2,017 votes, according to the NCTimes.com
