Updated Tuesday with new details.

A woman was placed under arrest Monday evening after being transported to a hospital following a head-on vehicle collision on state Route 67, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

Poway deputies responded to the collision in Highway 67, just north of Mino de Oro, around 3:26 p.m. Monday afternoon. According to a statement from authorities, a 36-year-old female was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 southbound on SR 67 when her vehicle struck the guardrail.

Her vehicle then swerved into the northbound lane of traffic, striking a 2007 Kia Sedona, which was northbound on SR 67. The Pontiac continued across the northbound lane of traffic and onto the shoulder where it rolled over onto its roof, the sheriff's department said.

According to deputies, the female driver of the Pontiac took a preliminary alcohol screening test at the scene, which came back "presumptively positive for the presence of alcohol."

Cal Fire Station 82 said the 36-year-old female was transported with "non-life-threatening injuries" to Palomar Medical Center.

While at the hospital, deputies arrested the female for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Capt. Jose Ramirez said the other vehicle involved was carrying an adult female with two young children. They were all wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries, he said.
