Brittney Phillips was chosen as the Miss Rodeo Queen.

"I'm going to have a really fun year, I really like the girls I was crowned with," said Phillips after the pageant. "After visiting (last year) the Poway Rodeo and seeing how amazing and how nice the whole Poway Rodeo staff is, I (decided) I need to get on board with this."

"I really want to thank my family, and all the girls for helping me through (the competition)."

Markie Battaglia, the 2010 Miss Rodeo California and first runner-up Miss Rodeo America, emceed the event.

"The girls are educators, they teach people about rodeo that are uninformed about the sport," Battaglia said. "As a rodeo queen, they are the ambassador for the community and the rodeo that they have the honor of representing."
